Capital Cops bust dacoits’ gang

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Sihala police have arrested five-members of the dacoits gang involved in robberies at medical stores and snatching at gun point from various areas in the federal capital and recovered valuables.
A massive crackdown against criminals underway, following IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younis’ orders to reduce crime rate in the federal capital.
The SP Rural Zone Zia ud Din assigned special tasks to SDPOs Beenish Fatima to ensure the arrest of criminals.
The police teams comprising SHO Sihala Zahid Husaain Shah, ASIs Akhtar Hussain, Abdul Ahad and other officials arrested five suspects of the dacoit gang, identified as Mohammad Irfan alias Afi son of Abdul Latif, Danish Iqbal son of Zafar Iqbal, Azhar Hayat son of Aqeel Hussain, Amir Sohail son of Muhammad Manzoor and Muhammad Idrees son of Abdul Waheed.
Two motorcycles, five pistols and nine mobile phones were recovered from the possession of the accused. During the investigation the accused confessed involvement in the robbery incident at Gift Pharmacy in the area of Sihala police.
They also admitted two motorcycle snatching incidents at the same area.
Cases of arms recovery and manufacture and robbery have been registered against the accused.
The Sihala police station commended the police teams, directing all the zonal officers to expedite the crackdown on criminal elements in their respective areas and recover the looted property of the citizens.
