ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday administered the oath of office to Senator Dr Musadik Malik as Minister of State at a ceremony held here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by parliamentarians and senior government officials. Belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Senator Musadik Malik joined the cabinet in the fourth phase of its formation as the earlier swearing-in ceremonies were taken place on April 19, April 22, and April 27.
The new cabinet reflects the political mix of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Pakistan Muslim League-Q and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
A day earlier, President Arif Alvi had administered oath to PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday as Foreign Minister under Shehbaz’s premiership.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at Aiwan-i-Sadr, where PM Shehbaz was also present. Thirty-three-year-old Bilawal was first elected to the National Assembly in 2018. This is the first time he will be serving as a member of the federal cabinet.
The Cabinet Division later issued a notification appointing him as the foreign minister. Assuming charge as the foreign minister, Bilawal was welcomed at the Foreign Office by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood. During his visit, Bilawal interacted with senior ministry officials.
