Robbers held; snatched items and weapon recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Aabpara police have arrested 03 robbers in just 02 hours after the incident and recovered the snatched purse, mobile, cash and weapon, a police spokesman said.

He said, the police received a call on safe city that 03 robbers riding on a bike snatched a purse and mobile phone from a lady in madina market sector G-6/3 area of PS Aabpara.

Upon receiving the call, the police teams erected pickets in different areas and started searching. During checking, a police team headed by SHO Aabpara Asim Ali Zaidi with officials signaled a suspicious bike with 03 persons riding on it. The accused tried to escape from the scene but the police team after taking all safety measures succeeded in arresting 02 accused while one accused managed to escape.

Police shifted the arrested accused in police station who were identified as Afaaq Khan and Muhammad Adeel from which snatched purse, cash Rs. 7000, mobile phone and weapon was recovered. Later, police also raided in Bari Imam area and nabbed the 3rd accused namely Muhammad Salman on the point of arrested accomplices. During preliminary investigation the accused have confessed numerous snatching incidents in different areas.

Separate cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway.

IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Faisal Kamran have appreciated the appropriate response of the police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates. SSP said that Islamabad police will leave no stone unturned to secure the life and property of the citizens.
