Action against land grabbing mafia in full swing: IGP

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas Wednesday said that Islamabad Police will continue action against land grabbing mafia and criminal elements until its elimination from the city. He said this while holding khuli kacheri in the Central police office to listen to the public as well as police official’s issues. 37 citizens and police officials attended the khuli kachehr.
IGP listened to the public grievances and marked them to the concerned officers. On the citizen’s complaint, the IGP marked two applications to AVLC and directed them to recover the stolen vehicles. IGP also marked an application to SDPO Bani Gala and directed him to arrest the absconders within three days. He marked one application to SDPO Aabpara and strictly directed him to arrest the accused nominated in murder case and send progress report within 13 days.

The IGP ordered Rs. 1, 00,000 from welfare fund for the marriage of police official’s daughter. He also directed to give Rs.25,000 from welfare fund for the widow of ex-serviceman. He said that welfare of police officials is our priority. Martyrs are our heroes and it’s our prime responsibility to take care of their families and children.
Muhammad Ahsan Younas strictly directed all zonal officers to listen to public complaints and resolve them purely on merit. “No laxity will be tolerated in this regard” he added.
Islamabad police chief emphasized that Islamabad police are committed to resolve the public grievances on priority and on merit. “We are public servants and to secure the life and property of the citizens is our foremost priority” the IGP maintained.
He further stated that a massive campaign against drug menace and land grabbers is on full swing.
The IGP directed all the police officials to adopt courteous attitude with the complainants visiting police stations and accomplish their responsibilities in a professional manner.
