Prices of cooking Oil, Ghee jacked up at utility stores

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has increased the prices of cooking oil and ghee, being sold at the country’s utility stores.
The prices of various brands of cooking oil and ghee have witnessed a significant increase. A notification regarding the increase in prices has also been issued, as per which the new prices will be applicable from June 1.
The notification stated that the price of ghee has been increased by Rs208 per kg, after which the ghee would be sold at Rs555 per kg in utility stores.
Meanwhile, the price of cooking oil has been increased by Rs213 per litre and will now be sold at Rs605 per litre, the notification added. –Agencies

OGRA notifies drop in LPG prices for June

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday notified a drop of Rs13.09 in Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) price for June.
According to OGRA, after a drop of Rs13.09 per kg, the price of the 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has decreased by Rs154.48.
The new price will be applied from June 1, 2022, after the drop, the per kg price of LPG will be set at Rs218.75.
According to the new prices notified by OGRA, the domestic cylinder will be sold at Rs2581.35. The domestic cylinder is currently being sold at Rs2735.83. In May, the LPG price had gone down by Rs15.27 per kilogram and settled at 231.85 per kilogram. –Agencies

ECP sets new terms for political parties’ rallies

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed political parties not to bring animals to their public rallies.
In a letter penned to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, PTI chairman Imran Khan and other political parties, the ECP asked them to avoid displaying animals in their public gatherings.
Terming the act as painful for the animals, the ECP said few political parties use animals for the publicity of their electoral mark in their rallies, which is not right.

The ECP also mentioned the verdict of the Islamabad High Court directing the Ministry of Climate Change to stop this practice.

It may be noted that in the Mansehra rally on Sunday, PML-N leader Capt (Retd) Safdar brought a tiger which was stopped by the police from taking him to the rally hall.
