ISLAMABAD: Pakistan strongly condemns extra-judicial killing of four more Kashmiris in fresh acts of state-sponsored terrorism by Indian occupation forces in Pulwama and Baramulla Districts of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Since India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019, more than 636 Kashmiris have embraced martyrdom in fake ‘encounters’ and so-called ‘cordon-and-search operations’. This year alone, 113 extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris have been recorded.
The intensified military crackdown and the rising numbers of extra-judicial killings in IIOJK are part of the extremist anti-Muslim designs of the “Hindutva” inspired BJP-RSS combine in India. Ironically, Kashmiri youth have been a specific target of the 900,000 strong Indian military occupation force stationed in the IIOJK.
India must realize that use of brutal force against the Kashmiri people, extra-judicial killings, custodial torture & deaths, forced disappearances, incarceration of Kashmiri leadership & youth and other methods of subjugation have failed in the past and will not succeed in the future. Through a Dossier unveiled last year, Pakistan has provided to the world, incontrovertible evidence of the gross and systemic oppression and human rights violations by the Indian occupation forces in the IIOJK.
Pakistan reiterates its call for investigation of extra-judicial killings in IIOJK by establishing an Independent Commission of Inquiry as recommended by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in its Kashmir reports of 2018 and 2019.
Pakistan also urges the international community to hold India responsible for its brazen suppression of innocent Kashmiris and play its due role in ensuring a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
Pakistan’s condemnation comes after Indian Troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism martyred four more Kashmiri youth in Kupwara, Baramulla and Shopian districts of IIOJK,.
Monday, the Troops martyred two youth during a violent cordon and search operation in Kandi area of Kupwara district. The troops martyred one youth each during similar operations at Zaloori in Baramulla and in Badimarg area of Shopian.
Meanwhile, Indian army and police arrested several youth during crackdown operations in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Shopian and Badgam districts.
The detained youth were booked under draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Many youth were summoned to police stations and army camps in the name of questioning where they were tortured and harassed by the brutal forces’ personnel.
Posters once again appeared in Srinagar and other parts of the territory condemning the anti-Kashmiris policies being pursued by the Modi-led Hindutva regime in IIOJK. Some of the posters decried the silence of the United Nations and the world community over the targeting of Kashmiri youth by the Modi-led Hinudtva regime in the occupied territory.
The BJP government has decided to reactivate the gang of Indian Army-backed killers in the name of so-called Village Defense Committees in Jammu region. The RSS goons associated with these committees had killed many innocent Kashmiri Muslims in the past.
On the other hand, condolence messages over death of senior APHC leader Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil continued to pour in. The incarcerated senior APHC leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan, in their messages from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail while recalling the sacrifices of the late leader for the Kashmir cause vowed that Kashmiri people would continue his legacy in the form of persistent struggle for their right to self-determination.
