Uzbek govt honors Khalid Taimur with Golden Pen Award

ISLAMABAD: An award-giving ceremony was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan. Experts and honorabledignitaries from the embassy and various institutionsattended the ceremony. The event was organizedespecially to honor Mr. Khalid TaimurAkram with the ‘OLTIN QALAM’ (Golden Pen) award for the year 2022 bestowed by Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan due to his exceptional efforts and work for regional connectivity and enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The contest was organized by Creative Union of Journalists, International Training Center in Conjuction with the Electronic Media Association, Independent Media Support Fund, National TV, Radio Company, and Ministries of Culture and Sports, Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Theresult of the16thinternational OltinQalam was announced on 5th May 2022inthe grand ceremony held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
A large number of experts/journalists/media persons were nominated from all across the world.
It is a proud moment that Mr. Khalid Taimur held the second position among all the nominees. Each year, OltinQalam (Golden Pen) competition is organized by the Republic of Uzbekistan in order to encourage experts who have been actively working for national development, enhancing people-to-people contacts, and rendering wonderful services to media & journalism of Uzbekistan.
Since 2006, the UNESCO Tashkent Office presented its
international nominations at the national contest for journalists “OltinQalam’’. It is noteworthy to mention that Mr. Khalid Taimur is the second Pakistaniin the last 16 years, who has received this award.
During the ceremony, His Excellency Aybek A. Usmanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan appreciated the proactive role of Mr. Khalid Taimur in promoting bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and also reinvigorating Central-South Asian Regional connectivity. High-level dignitaries and participants also acknowledged the robust efforts by Mr. Khalid Taimur that he has provided a new impetus to people-to-people contacts and academic collaboration between the two brotherly states. Mr. Khalid TaimurAkram expressed his gratitude to the organizers and jury for honoring the award.
