ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs, Qamar Zaman Kaira, has paid homage to popular Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani on the eve of his sixth martyrdom anniversary.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said Burhan Wani is a symbol of resistance against the Indian barbarism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Burhan Wani fought against India’s illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir and infused a new passion in the educated youth of the occupied territory to carry forward their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
The adviser said the unparalleled sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of great martyrs like Burhan Wani reflect the fact that today’s Kashmiri youth is fighting for their inalienable right with a great passion like their forefathers. He said that’s why the Indian occupational forces are ruthlessly massacring Kashmiri people especially youth to suppress their freedom sentiment. He said that unarmed Kashmiri youth are being martyred by Indian troops on a daily basis under the guise of so-called siege and search operations with an aim to change the Muslim majority of IIOJK into a minority.

Qamar Zaman Kaira said Pakistan continues to extend full support to the Kashmiri brethren at the international level. He said that the present government, especially Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has raised his voice in all the forums of the world for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He stressed that a strong and stable Pakistan is essential for the settlement of the lingering dispute.
