Life returning to normal in Chengdu

Chengdu: Liu Ying, a middle-aged woman in Chengdu, Sichuan province, received acupuncture treatment for a headache and back pain on Thursday afternoon at a clinic near her home.
“It was very nice to be out and not have to check the time to return home before the two-hour deadline expires,” Liu said.
To cope with the latest local outbreak of COVID-19 that began on Aug 25, Chengdu started citywide static management at 6 pm on Sept 1, with residents required to stay at home and nonessential businesses suspended.
Starting on Sept 8, households under lockdown were permitted to send one member out for two hours every two days to buy daily supplies after providing a negative nucleic acid result from within 24 hours.
As the epidemic prevention situation in the city is improving, the local COVID-19 epidemic control and prevention headquarters issued a notice on Wednesday evening saying that the city had decided to restore “normal production and life” as of midday on Thursday, in districts where no recent COVID-19 cases had been found at the community level.
According to the notice, residents entering residential compounds and public places or taking public transportation must hold a negative nucleic acid test result from within 48 hours.
