Five wanted members of two thief gangs held

ISLAMABAD: PS Khanna and PS Nilore teams have arrested five wanted members of two thief gangs and recovered cash, stolen valuables and weapons with ammunition from their possession.

Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police had started a crackdown against criminal elements in order to save the precious lives and property of citizens.

According to the details, Khanna police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending three wanted members of a thief gang. The accused were identified as Zohaib, Hadid and Usman. Police team also recovered stolen valuables worth Rs 75 thousand and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession.

While Nilore police team arrested two member of thief gang namely Muhammad Hasnain and Muhammad Akram and recovered stolen valuables worth Rs 1 lac from their possession.

Case has been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.

Senior police officers appreciated the performance of the police team and further directed all zonal officers to intensify the crackdown against the criminal elements. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he added.- Agencies
