44 beggars rounded up in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The police rounded up 44 professional beggars during crackdowns in the Garrison City on Friday.

In line with directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Nadeem Shehzad Bukhari, the incharges of beggar squads along with teams launched crackdowns against professional beggars across Rawalpindi City.

During separate actions, 44 professional beggars were rounded up and put behind the bars at different police stations of the city.

CPO Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari said that the beggar squads were making all out efforts to clear the city of the professional beggars. He said that these professional beggars not only disrupt the flow of traffic but result in road accidents and masses should discourage them which will improve the situation.
