Army Chief lauds bravery, contribution of KP Police

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir Friday visited Peshawar Police Lines blast site, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). COAS met with Police Officers and men. COAS appreciated the bravery and contribution of KP police and LEAs in war against terrorism.

COAS said that KP police is one of the most brave and has fought as a Frontline force against terrorism.

COAS also appreciated the high morale of KP police and LEAs and paid rich tribute to the martyrs of police who have laid down their lives for the defence of motherland.

“We as a nation together will root out this menace of terrorism till enduring peace and InSha Allah we shall achieve this,” COAS concluded.

In another statement, ISPR said the security forces have killed two terrorists amid intense fire exchange that took place between the terrorists and forces in general area Esham of North Waziristan District.

According to ISPR, the killed terrorists remained actively involved in subversive activities against the security forces whereas weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

“The incident re-vindicates Pakistan Army’s resolve to have zero tolerance against terrorism in Pakistan and reaffirms its determination to take on any and all entities that resort to violence,” it added. –ISPR
