16 arrested, drugs  & arms recovered

ISLAMABAD: Cops apprehended sixteen outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession.
Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Secretariat police team arrested an accused namely Nasir Mehmood involved in drug peddling and recovered 1025 gram hashish from his possession. Kohsar police team arrested two accused namely Asif and Shamoon involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession.
Likewise, the Bhara Kahu police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Nabeel and recovered 2129 gram heroin and motorbike used in crime from his possession. The Bani Gala police team arrested three accused namely Adeel, Abdul Hadi and Hamza involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered three 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their possession.
Similarly, the Tarnol police team arrested an accused namely Sahil Khan involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. The Kirpa police team arrested an accused namely Zaboor Ahmed and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Moreover, the Sabzi Mandi police team arrested two accused namely Noshad Noor and Shahgul and recovered 625 gram hashish from their possession. Shams Colony police team arrested an accused namely Atif Khan and recovered 520 gram hashish from his possession.
During the crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, the Islamabad capital police teams arrested four absconders and proclaimed offenders from different areas of the city.
 Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he maintained.
