ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police arranged a workshop for students of Islamabad Model School G-7/4 to acquaint them with road safety tips and better awareness about traffic rules.
More than 400 students attended the workshop and efforts of the force in ensuring a safe road environment in the city were highlighted.
The Education Wing of Islamabad Capital Police informed the students as to how special measures are being taken to curb various traffic violations in the city and also informed about traffic rules and regulations.
It was informed that educational teams of police visit various organizations as this exercise is helpful in providing a disciplined traffic system to the masses. It was told that personnel of the force have not only helped to establish a disciplined traffic system in the Capital but also reduced the ratio of accidents.
On the occasion, a message of Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer was also read who termed public cooperation vital to ensure a safe road environment.
The Education Wing of Islamabad Capital Police presented a shield to Principal Islamabad Model School G-7/4 Madam Rabia Qayum. The Principal and other participants lauded the efforts of traffic police for a safer road environment in the city.
Minister condoles over death of Basant victim

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir on Sunday visited the house of a girl who was killed by areal firing on the occasion of Basant in the Mohanpura area.
He expressed his condolence to the grieving family over the accidental death of the girl and offered fateha for the departed soul.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to shower His infinite blessings upon the departed soul and grant courage to the bereaved family members to bear this immense loss with fortitude.’
On this occasion, he said that despite of ban on kite flying and aerial firing, those who were involved in this incident would be brought to justice.
He directed the Regional Police Officer to arrest the culprits at the earliest.
Later, the minister visited the Benazir Bhutto Hospital and inquired after the health of the police officer who was injured in aerial firing on the occasion of kite flying and asked about the medical facilities provided by the hospital staff.
He directed the hospital’s administration to provide the best medical facilities to the victim.
