Heyuan: Two earthquakes, the first of magnitude of 4.5 and the other of 3.4, were recorded in Dongyuan county of Heyuan, Guangdong province, on Wednesday morning and afternoon, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The 4.5-magnitude quake at 5:15 am was felt in the province’s Pearl River Delta region. No loss of life or property was reported.
The possibility of an earthquake above magnitude 5 is minimal, according to the Guangdong Earthquake Agency.
Service was suspended for a number of trains passing the section between Heyuan North and Boluo North.
