2nd International Forum on Democracy held in Beijing

BEIJING: Second Interational Forum on “Democracy: Common Value for All Mankind” was held here in Beijing.from March 22 to 23.
The forum was held in a combination of offline and online and was participated by hundreds of Chinese and foreign guests from more than 100 countries, regions and international organizations who discussed topics such as “Democracy and Sustainable Development,” “Democracy and Innovation,” and “Democracy and Modernization Road,” and shared the true meaning of democracy.
Participants were of the opinion that democracy is a common value for all mankind, and there are various forms to achieve democracy. Countries should respect the diversity of world civilizations, respect the democratic development path of other countries, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
The CPC has put forward and developed people’s democracy throughout the process, and constantly transformed the value concept of people’s ownership into scientific and effective institutional arrangements and concrete and realistic democratic practices, which has gathered consensus and strength for Chinese path to modernization. China’s path to democracy is becoming wider and wider, and it has also contributed Chinese wisdom to the progress of human political civilization.
The forum was hosted by the Publicty Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Information Office of the State Council, and jointly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Central Radio and Television Administration, and the China Foreign Languages Bureau.
