Man stabs, kills railway passenger

BEIJING: A man who stabbed a male passenger to death on a train has been detained for a further investigation, the Guangzhou railway police said.
China Railway Guangzhou Group Co is negotiating with the family members of the dead passenger to cope with the aftermath, according to a recent report by China Newsweek.
A cousin of the victim said the killer boarded the train at Hengshan station and used an 18-centimeter knife. The victim was taking the train with the victim and an aunt to Hengyang, Hunan province, China Newsweek reported.
The cousin said the train crew forgot to bring the key to the first aid kit during the rescue process, which caused a delay that led to the victim’s death.
A staff member from the railway company said passengers are not allowed to carry sharp tools. Any passenger who wants to transport a daily-use knife longer than 60 millimeters can take it in checked luggage only — before boarding.
The staff member said there is no requirement to equip medical personnel, but a first-aid kit is required in every passenger train.
Whether or not the kit is equipped with a key, and what medicines are available, depends on the specific train situation, the staff member said. –The Daily Mail-China Daily news exchange item
