GWADAR: The Pak-China Technical & Vocational Institute (PCTVI) in Gwadar, a special project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) aimed at boosting skilled manpower, has finally begun offering one-year diploma courses free of charge to local students in Gwadar.
In an interview with Gwadar Pro, Prof Dr Syed Manzoor Ahmed, the Executive Director of the Pak-China Technical & Vocational Institute (PCTVI), revealed that the one-year diploma courses offered by the institute include maritime affairs & port management, IT, e-commerce, and hotel management. He further mentioned that approximately 200 male and female students have been enrolled for these courses, which will provide them with hands-on education in collaboration with the Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (SICT), Gwadar University, Gwadar Port Authority, and China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC).
The Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University, Prof. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, paid a visit to the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCTVI) where he officially inaugurated the classes. In his address, he made a commitment to provide the enrolled students with all the necessary facilities, with the ultimate goal of empowering them to enhance their high-tech knowledge and become valuable assets in the fiercely competing market.
Chairman Yu Bo of the China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC) emphasized the significance of PCTVI’s diplomas and courses. He highlighted their potential to unlock employment opportunities for the youth in Gwadar, particularly for women, by actively engaging them in the business activities outlined in the Gwadar master plan. –Agencies
