7 of two inter-provincial car lifter gangs held

ISLAMABAD: Anti Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU) of Islamabad Capital Police arrested seven members of two inter- provincial car lifter gangs and recovered 15 stolen vehicles worth of 24 million rupees from their possession.
Following the directions of the Inspector General of police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements involved in bike and car lifting incidents in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directions, the AVLU police teams used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending seven members of two inter-provincial car lifter gangs and recovered 15 stolen vehicles worth of 24 million rupees from their possession.
The car lifters were identified as Murad Khan, Tahir Khan, Abid Javed, Qarib Ullah, Muhammad Adnan, Mohsin Ali and Zeeshan Ahmed. During the preliminary investigation the accused revealed that they committed several crimes in various areas of the city. Numerous cases were already registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway from them.
