ISLAMABAD: According to details, Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 15 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered a huge cache of drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession.
Following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police have intensified their crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Kohsar police team arrested an accused namely Adous Baig involved in drug peddling activities and recovered 670 gram heroin from his possession. The Sumbal police team arrested two accused namely Rehat Naz and Naiz Ali and recovered 2520 gram hashish and 200 gram heroin from their possession.
Similarly, the Noon police team arrested an accused namely Shahzaib involved in possessing illegal weapons and re-covered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. The Koral police team arrested two accused namely Umair ul Haq and Muhammad Hassan and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession. Moreover, the Shahzad Town police team arrested an accused namely Aqeel Ahmed and recovered one 12 bore gun with ammunition from his possession.
During the crackdown against court absconders and proclaimed offenders, the Islamabad Capital Police team arrested seven absconders from various areas of the city. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
CPO/DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari directed all senior officials for an effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons and said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility. He maintained that the performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis.
