Capital Cops’ 22nd summer camp concludes

ISLAMABAD: According to the details, the Islamabad Capital Police successful concludss 22nd summer camp, a key initiative in fostering community policing and enhancing public relations. The camp aimed to bridge the gap between law enforcement and citizens, fostering a sense of unity and trust within the community.
Following the directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), the summer camp provided an enriching platform for children to acquire essential life skills and build positive relationships among each others.
The program spanned a month, during which participants engaged in a variety of activities including first aid, swimming, self-defense training classes, archery, and martial arts. This holistic approach aimed to empower the participants and equip them with valuable skills for personal safety and community engagement.
The closing ceremony, held at the Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad, witnessed the attendance of families, children, and key officials including SSP Headquarters Sarfaraz Virk and SP Headquarters. Addressing the audience, SSP Headquarters highlighted the camp’s commitment to community policing and its significant impact over the years.
He said that, the Islamabad Capital Police summer camp is a part of a larger tradition that began in 2002. In the last two decades, 22 successful summer camps have been conducted, along with the introduction of self-defense courses in 2021, further contributing to the empowerment of women and men through expert police instruction demonstrated the police force’s unwavering dedication to community engagement.
Over 250 children participated in this year’s summer camp, showcasing the program’s growing popularity and impact, he added.
Parents lauded the efforts of Islamabad Capital Police in creating a safe and educational environment for their children, emphasizing the value of such initiatives in building strong ties between the community and law enforcement.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, SSP Headquarters presented certificates of appreciation to the young participants, acknowledging their dedication and active involvement in the summer camp. The Islamabad Capital Police reaffirms its commitment to upholding the principles of community policing and looks forward to continued success in its future endeavors.
