Khan picks Barrister Gohar for Chairmanship

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has picked Barrister Gohar Khan, a member of his legal team, as the party’s chairman for the upcoming intra-party polls.
Gohar, who has been associated with the party and Khan as a legal advisor, said he was “speechless” after he was named for the coveted post in the party.
The PTI is slated to conduct its intra-party elections on Saturday.
The development was announced as PTI leaders Barrister Ali Zafar, spokesperson Raoof Hasan and Barrister Gohar spoke with journalists in Islamabad during a presser.
Barrister Zafar said the chairmanship is temporary, as Khan would return as chairman of the party once his disqualification in the wake of the Toshakhana case is overturned.
“There is no concept of PTI without Imran Khan,” Zafar said, speaking with journalists in the federal capital, flanked by the newly-chosen chairman of the Khan-led party. –Agencies
