BEIJING: Walasmulle Wajira, a Sri Lankan student studying at Liaoning University, recently visited the Niuheliang Site Museum to explore the heritage of China’s Hongshan Culture and engage with the concept of unity between heaven and humanity, which is an integral part of Chinese culture.
During his visit, Wajira made an intriguing observation. He noticed that Sri Lankans consider astrology before marriage, much like the Chinese do.
The practice is part of the concept of heaven and humanity.
As part of the fifth phase of the Project to Trace the Origins of Chinese Civilization, the National Cultural Heritage Administration recognized the Niuheliang Site on December 9.
The site represents the first stage of the ancient state era in Chinese civilization and is an important archaeological showcase of the Hongshan Culture.
Dating back approximately 5200-5800 years, the Niuheliang Site now plays a crucial role in the unbroken chain of Chinese civilization.
