ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has inaugurated the newly constructed building of Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Industrial Area office.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by SSP Operations, local dignitaries, traders, and representatives of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce (ICCI), while senior police officers and officials were also present.
On this occasion, the ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan said that the previous office of the DPO Industrial Area was located on Kashmir Highway, which was burnt during the protests. The Islamabad Capital Police has established a temporary DPO office in I-8 Markaz using their limited resources.
The new DPO office has been constructed in the I-8 Markaz, encompassing important locations like Expressway, Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed Road, Faizabad, and other vital bus terminals, he added.
He further said that the installation of surveillance cameras in I-8 Markaz and its surroundings, along with integrating them with the centralized system of Safe City Islamabad, will help to control crime and counter-terrorism.
On this occasion, the dignitaries of the area, traders union and representatives of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce welcomed the establishment of DPO Industrial Area office in the I-8 Markaz and appreciated the efforts of Islamabad Capital Police to maintain peace.
