Five killed in Kurram firing

KURRAM: As many as five people were killed in firing in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.
As per details, some unknown assailants opened fire on a car and a passenger coach near Sadda bypass in Kurram district. The police said that both the vehicles were going to Peshawar from Parachinar.
Five people including a woman lost their lives in the unfortunate incident while three others sustained injuries. The injured were later shifted to the nearby hospital. The security forces surrounded the area and started search operation.
A large contingent of police immediately reached the spot and raids were being conducted to arrest the suspects, DPO said.
Earlier, Unidentified assailants on Thursday killed eight schoolteachers in Parachinar in two incidents, prompting the Kohat board to cancel the ongoing matriculation examination.
According to police, unidentified persons opened fire on teachers who were on exam duty in Teri Mengal school’s staff room. In the other instance, teacher Muhammad Sharif had been killed while he was travelling on Shalozan Road. –Agencies
