Larkana shooting condemned

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the firing incident in Larkana district.
In a statement released by the PPP Media Cell, Bilawal expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of six people, including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) from the Mahotta Police Station.
“My heart goes out to the families of all the deceased persons, including the martyred ASI, and I pray for the speedy recovery of the DSP and others who were injured in the incident,” Bilawal stated in the release.
The PPP chief demanded that the perpetrators of the incident be swiftly brought to the book. Six people were killed and five wounded on Sunday in a firing incident between two groups near Nodero Bypass Larkana, local media reported.
According to meida, a fight between two groups over the matter of voting in Larkana’s Nodero turned into violence, with indiscriminate use of sticks and firing by both sides. According to the police, as soon as the incident was reported, the Mahota police officers have arrived at the site.
Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Sultan Shah was shot dead, whereas, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bashir Ahmed Shar and Constable Saddam Hussain were among the wounded. Police said that one critical injured person has been shifted to Karachi for medical treatment. –Agencies
