3 busted, drugs’ cache recovered

Islamabad: Islamabad Police Shalimar police team arrested three wanted members including a foreign national of a drug peddler gang involved in numerous drugs smuggling activities and recovered a huge cache of liquor, intoxicated tablets and weapons from their possession.
Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directions, the Shalimar police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending 03 wanted members of a drug peddling gang. The accused were identified as Umar Arshad, Khan Muhammad and Liu.
The Police team also recovered 110 bottles of liquor, 150 intoxicated tablets and one MP-4 rifle from their possession. Cases were registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari said that the Islamabad Police will bring all elements involved in narcotics trade to justice. Citizens should cooperate with Islamabad Police in eradicating narcotics and resolve that addiction is no longer acceptable.
