Beijing: To showcase and promote the exemplary Pakistan China friendship and to commemorate the 73rd Anniversary of establishment of Pakistan-China Diplomatic relations, renowned media outlet Asia Pacific Daily organized a spectacular event here in Beijing that was attended by distinguished guests from both China and Pakistan, including Brig Ghulam Mustafa, the Defence and Military Attaché of the Embassy of Pakistan in China, Professor Su Hao of China Foreign Affairs University and Ms.Mahnoor Makhdoom, head of the China and CPEC Affairs of Pakistan’s The Daily Mail and a PhD Scholar at the Communication University of China(CUC). The event was a festive “feast” of Pakistani culture, highlighting the deep and enduring friendship between China and Pakistan.
In her welcome speech, Lily Liu, Editor-in-Chief of Asia Pacific Daily, emphasized the longevity and strength of the China-Pakistan relationship. “73 years may be a long time in a person’s life, but 73 years is just the beginning for China-Pakistan friendship. Pakistan is China’s iron brother and a good friend who shares the heart and soul with each other. I hope our activities today can add a brick to ‘the Great Wall’ of China-Pakistan friendship,” she remarked.
Professor Su Hao, a renowned scholar from China Foreign Affairs University, highlighted the strategic importance of the China-Pakistan partnership. He noted that the friendly relations between the two countries are crucial to regional and global peace, especially in today’s turbulent times.
Mahnoor Makhdoom of Pakistan’s Daily Mail echoed these sentiments, underscoring the profound friendship between the two nations. “Since the two countries established diplomatic ties 73 years ago, they have been firmly supporting each other in various fields and helping each other when they encounter difficulties. Especially during the pandemic period, China has given great support to Pakistan as if it were helping its own people,” he said. Mahnoor also expressed his hope that the strong and vibrant China-Pakistan friendship would continue to flourish.
The cultural performances were a highlight of the event. Chinese singer Hou Wei and Pakistani singer Hasan performed “Laila” and “The Moon Represents My Heart,” showcasing the harmony between the two cultures. Du Juan, a Chinese South Asian dancer, delighted the audience with a joyful Pakistani dance. Yin Yue, a young teacher, captivated attendees with two famous passages from the Beijing Opera “Matchmaker.” Additionally, Zhang Zhouhang explained the culture of traditional Chinese costumes and, along with his friends, performed a costume and dance show.
The event concluded with guests enjoying a variety of Pakistani cuisine and refreshments in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
This cultural event not only celebrated the rich traditions of Pakistan but also reinforced the strong bond between China and Pakistan. As both nations look forward to many more years of cooperation and friendship, events like this serve as a testament to their enduring alliance and mutual respect.
