Chief Commissioner reviews Muharram procession route

Islamabad: IG Islamabad along with Chief Commissioner Islamabad, visited the route of the Muharram Ul Haram procession after sunset
IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, inspected the main procession of the 9th Muharram-ul-Haram after sunset and reviewed the security measures in place.
IGP Islamabad directed all security officers to remain vigilant. He emphasized that the procession routes should be completely secured and well-lit. All officers assigned to security duty were required to be present along the procession route and those stationed on rooftops were to maintain a high state of alertness.
He further said that no police officer should leave their assigned duty point until the conclusion of the procession. Stressing the importance of the 9th Muharram central procession for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, he reiterated their commitment to fulfilling their responsibility.
Islamabad Police ensured comprehensive security arrangements for the main procession of 09 Muharram, deploying over 3400 police officers and personnel from other law enforcement agencies.
The procession was monitored using drones and surveillance cameras in Safe City.
