AIOU launches programs for skilled workforce

ISLAMABAD: Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University has instructed all the four faculties of the university to introduce programs that produce a skilled workforce in line with market demands, aiming to secure honourable employment for students upon graduation.
According to the AIOU, this directive aligns with his vision and mission to modernize the university’s educational programs and introduce job-oriented programs.
In response to these instructions, the Faculty of Sciences has introduced new programs for the Autumn Semester 2024 admissions, including BSc Agriculture, BS Physics, BS Health and Physical Education, and BS Information Technology, along with new certificate courses in AutoCAD and the manufacturing of surfactant-based products. Admission forms and prospectuses for these new programs are available on the university’s website www.aiou.edu.pk. Students are advised to refer to the prospectus for eligibility criteria and other details.
New programs from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies will be offered in the second phase of admissions, which will commence on September 1, 2024.
