4th August Police Martyrs’ Day tributes paid to 62 martyrs

ISLAMABAD: A grand ceremony was held at the Police Community Center, Police Lines Headquarters, to honor the 62 martyrs of the Islamabad Police. Secretary Interior Captain (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha attended the ceremony as the chief guest.


The chief guest visited the martyrs’ memorial, placed a flower wreath and offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks. On this occasion, a smartly turned-out contingent of police officers presented a guard of honor.
DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, DIG Security Muhammad Jawad Tariq, SSPs, all zonal SPs, DSPs and other police officers, along with the families of the martyred policemen, children, representatives from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and members of civil society participated in the ceremony.
The chief guest along with senior police officers met the families of the martyrs and distributed gifts to the children of the martyrs. During the ceremony tributes were paid to the Islamabad Police martyrs for their eternal sacrifices for the country and the nation. Documentaries and videos featuring the police martyrs were also shown to the participants.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief guest stated that the Islamabad Police martyrs sacrificed their lives while performing their duty to protect the nation.


These sacrifices for the country and the nation will always be remembered with honor.
He further stated that “Police Martyrs’ Day” is a day to honor the martyrs’ sacrifices and renew our pledge. Martyrs have made our tomorrow safe by sacrificing today. Those who made great sacrifices in the line of duty are our pride.
On this occasion, DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza remarked that the great sacrifices of the martyrs and police are eternal.
We stand with the families of the martyrs in every hour of sorrow. The 62 martyrs of the Islamabad Police sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. We inherit the legacy of those martyrs who made eternal sacrifices in the path of duty.
So far 01 Inspector, 05 Sub-Inspectors, 11 ASIs, 12 Head Constables and 33 Constables of the Islamabad Police have sacrificed their lives while performing their duties.
