Dengue turns problematic for Punjab residents

LAHORE: Punjab recorded eight new dengue cases in the last 24 hours, raising the province’s total number of reported cases this year to 296, according to data released by the Department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare.
In the past week, 36 new dengue cases have surfaced across Punjab, the health department’s spokesperson revealed. Of the eight recent cases, two were reported from Lahore, three from Rawalpindi, and one each from Okara, Sahiwal, and Rahim Yar Khan.
The health department assured that all arrangements for dengue prevention are in place, with sufficient stock of medicines in all government hospitals, including those for treating dengue cases.
Health officials continue to monitor the situation, urging the public to take precautionary measures and report symptoms early to prevent further spread. –Agencies
