ISLAMABAD: Stakeholders for Pakistan’s energy infrastructure, have reached an agreement to begin construction on the White Oil Pipeline Project, with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The project, spanning 477 kilometres, will link key locations in Pakistan, including Machike, Thalian, and Taru Jabba, and is set to enhance the country’s oil distribution system.
The White Oil Pipeline Project is a flagship initiative led by the Pakistan State Oil (PSO), PARCO, and the Inter-State Gas System, with Frontier Works Organisation overseeing the construction.
Running parallel to the motorway, this two-part pipeline will connect the Attock Refinery with key sites like Chak Pirana and Faqirabad, ensuring smoother and more efficient oil transport across the region.
The pipeline’s construction is expected to significantly reduce transportation costs, potentially saving the national treasury billions of rupees.
By improving the supply of petroleum products, the project will also reduce the risk of fuel adulteration and increase safety.
Initial capacity for the pipeline stands at 7 million tonnes annually, with the potential to expand to 10 million tonnes.
The project aims to reduce reliance on road transportation, improve environmental sustainability, and boost overall performance in oil distribution.
The expedited completion of this project demonstrates the government’s and SIFC’s commitment to advancing Pakistan’s petroleum sector.

Earlier, There have been new discoveries of oil and gas in the country due to the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
Twenty-six percent increase has been witnessed in crude oil reserves and two percent in gas reserves at the end of last fiscal year.
According to the data released by Pakistan Petroleum Information Service, the available oil reserves reached 243 million barrels in June this year compared to 193 million barrels in December last year. Gas reserves increased from 18.10 trillion cubic feet to 18.47 trillion cubic feet.
