IGP reviews security arrangements for SCO Summit

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi is personally reviewing the security arrangements for the ongoing “Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2024” in the federal capital, Islamabad.
In this regard, he visited Safe City Islamabad, the Control Room at the SSP Security Office, and the Red Zone to review the security measures deployed at the residences and venues of foreign heads of state and delegations.
On this occasion, DIG Security Jawad Tariq and other senior police officers were also present.
IGP Islamabad said that the Islamabad Police have deployed more than 9,000 officers and officials for security duties to ensure foolproof security for the SCO Summit 2024.
In addition, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, District Administration, Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, other provincial police forces, intelligence agencies, traffic police and the special branch are all contributing to the security efforts.
He issued directives to police officers, instructing them to enhance surveillance in addition to the existing security arrangements at the residences, venues, and routes used by foreign delegations.
Islamabad Police are also requesting cooperation from citizens to help ensure foolproof security for the SCO Summit 2024.
He further assured that Islamabad Police will utilize all available resources to provide comprehensive security for all delegations and make every effort to uphold the dignity and honor of the country.
