ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Saudi Arabia’s governor for small and medium enterprises (SME) general have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the SME sector, Pakistan’s ministry said on Thursday.
Hussain is in Saudi Arabia to attend the United Nations Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF), being held from 23-24 October in Riyadh.
The forum brings together international delegates to discuss industrial growth and sustainable practices. During his visit, the Pakistani minister met with the Saudi SME governor to explore areas of mutual interest. “Cooperation among small and medium enterprises will be increased,” the ministry’s statement said.
Both sides also agreed to facilitate more visits by business professionals between the two countries.
Pakistan has been seeking to strengthen trade and investment ties with Saudi Arabia. Earlier this year, the Kingdom reaffirmed its commitment to expedite a $5 billion investment package for Pakistan. –Agencies
