ANF seized big in operations targeting schools

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized drugs worth over Rs10 million in various operations targeting the sale and smuggling of drugs around educational institutions and other areas across the country.
According to the ANF spokesperson, a total of 81.806 kilograms of drugs were confiscated in 13 different operations, and 12 suspects were taken into custody.
Details of the operations include the recovery of 1.8 kg of hashish near Empress Market in Karachi, 490 grams of hashish near Fateh Chowk in Hyderabad, and 46 grams of heroin from a parcel at a courier office on RCD Road, Hub, that was being sent to Karachi. Additionally, four kg of hashish was seized near a university in Hyderabad, and 230 grams of hashish was recovered from near Bidera Chowk in Mansehra.
At Multan Airport, a passenger bound for Bahrain was found carrying 2.4 kg of ice (methamphetamine). In Gujranwala, authorities seized 16.6 kg of hashish and 1.44 kg of ice from different locations.
Near Sibi Road in Quetta, 1.5 kg of heroin and 500 grams of ice were recovered, while 25 kg of hashish was seized from Panjgur. In Islamabad, near Chungi No. 26, authorities confiscated 1.2 kg of opium and 12 kg of hashish.
Furthermore, 10 kg of heroin was seized from a vehicle on the M-1 motorway in Islamabad, and 4.8 kg of hashish was recovered from near Koh-e-Noor Mills in Rawalpindi, leading to the arrest of two more suspects.
Previously, ANF in Balochistan intensified its crackdown on drug smuggling, leading to the arrest of three suspects.
In two separate operations, a total of 68 kilograms of drugs valued at Rs4,700,000 were seized, according to an ANF spokesperson.
The first operation took place near Sariab Road, Quetta, where 20 kilograms of cannabis were recovered from three individuals, according to Express News.
In a separate operation on the coastline of Gwadar, 48 kilograms of cannabis were found hidden in bushes.
The suspects have been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations into their activities are underway.
