Rawalpindi: Security forces killed seven terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in North Waziristan on Wednesday, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), re-ported on Wednesday. According to a statement from ISPR, the first operation took place in the Miran Shah area, where forc-es acted on intelligence reports regarding the presence of ‘Khwarij’—a term used for foreign militants. The operation led to the killing of four terrorists.
In a second encounter in the Spinwam area, security forces neutralised three more terrorists. Howev-er, during the intense firefight, Lance Naik Muhammad Amin, aged 34 and a resident of Faisalabad, was martyred while fighting bravely.
The ISPR praised his courage, stating, “Lance Naik Muhammad Amin, having fought gallantly, em-braced martyrdom.” A sanitisation operation is currently underway in the region to clear any remaining terrorist presence.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism, with the ISPR statement adding, “Se-curity forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.” –Agencies
