ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired important meetings at the Central Police Office (CPO) Islamabad, in which DIG Headquarters Syed Ali Raza, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DG Safe City Shakir Hussain Dawar, and other senior police officers were present.
During the meeting, IGP Islamabad reviewed the performance of all divisions, including the implementation of important tasks assigned to officers, and issued orders to improve the effectiveness of their divisions.
He directed the officers to accelerate the ongoing crackdown against criminal elements. Criminals involved in drug peddling in the city should be targeted more effectively, and arrests of previously recorded criminals, including court absconders, proclaimed and targeted offenders should be prioritized.
The investigation of cases should be completed promptly, and strict punishments should be imposed on criminal elements. Surveillance should be strengthened, along with effective blockades at the city’s entrance and exit points.
IGP Islamabad also reviewed the performance of the Security Division and its sub-units. He issued orders to ensure effective security in the Red Zone. The capacity of the Special Protection Unit and Red Zone Commandos should be increased, and robust security should be implemented for important government buildings, embassies, and other properties in the Red Zone.
All police services should be made available to foreign citizens at the Cascade khidmat markaz located in the Diplomatic Enclave, he added.
Moreover, IGP Islamabad reviewed the performance of Safe City Islamabad. He directed officers to increase the capacity of Safe City cameras, implement effective surveillance at the city’s entrance and exit routes, and enhance the performance of the Safe City e-challan and other related departments.
