ISLMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visited various areas of the city. During the visit he checked the security at masjids and imambargahs during iftar, suhoor, and prayer times, met with police officers on duty and appreciated their efforts.
However, he issued show cause notices to the SHOs of Aabpara and Shalimar for negligence in duty and sought clarification from three senior police officers for being absent from the field. He said that during the holy month of Ramadan duties at masjids and imambargahs are crucial. During these times no senior police officer should be at home. All DIGs, SSPs, and SPs should be present in the field. He emphasized that negligence in duty will not be tolerated. He issued instructions to senior police officers to ensure that all officers on security duty reach their designated duty points for suhoor and iftar on time.
Despite the harsh weather conditions these police officers remain alert to protect the lives and property of the public staying away from their families. The real worship of these officers is safeguarding the city and its citizens, he added. He urged all officers to consider their duties as worship. Any negligence in the security of masjids and imambargahs will not be tolerated.
Earlier, an Iftar dinner was arranged at the Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad, where IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and senior police officers shared iftar with other police officers.
