ISLAMABAD: Awam Pakistan Party chief Shahid Khaqan Abbasi urged all the stakeholders to sit together for country’s progress.
Speaking on Wednesday, the former prime minister said that political, military and judicial leadership should sit together to devise an agenda for this country’s development. “We have left with no other option except to form a unity government,” the veteran politician said.
He added that not a single party can bring the country out of prevailing crises. According to former prime minister, there is a need to change the current system of the country. Talking about US President Donald Trump, he said that Trump changes his policies daily and the situation in Ukraine is a clear example of it. He added that the country is not functioning properly in its current state and needs to be governed according to the constitution and law. “We must find a solution based on the constitution and law,” he said. He also lamented the worsening economic situation of the country.
Earlier, Awam Pakistan Party head Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, accused politicians of breaking all principles in their pursuit of power. Addressing a gathering in the twin cities, Abbasi lamented that governance cannot be sustained through constitutional violations and coercion. He asserted that Pakistan’s parliament no longer represents the people, claiming that two-thirds of its members have secured their seats through financial means rather than public mandate. –Agencies
