KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has said the district government is taking measures to improve the infrastructure of the city.
The mayor said this while he visited different areas of Karachi on late Saturday night to review the ongoing development works in the city.
Murtaza Wahab visited Mahmoodabad to inspect uplift projects launched by the district to improve the infrastructure of the locality. The Mayor also reviewed development work of Clifton Bridge. The PPP leader issued directives to the authorities concerned to speed up the development works in different areas of Karachi and ensure transparency and quality in the completion of the projects.
The Karachi mayor said that the PPP was taking people-friendly steps to improve the living standard of the people of Karachi and resolve their issues pertaining to sanitation and traffic.
Earlier, Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has directed that all development projects should be completed within their designated time frame and warned that the officers failing to perform their duties will be removed from their positions. He emphasised the need for accelerating the pace of development work stating that 250 schemes must be completed within the current fiscal year. Addressing a high-level meeting of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) engineering department, Wahab expressed dissatisfaction at the department’s performance. –Agencies
