Cops promote 10 DSPs to SPs in historic move

ISLAMABAD: Under the special efforts of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi 10 DSPs of Islamabad Police were promoted to the rank of SPs for the first time in the history of the force.
A formal ceremony was held at Police Lines Headquarters to confer the new ranks to the officers. IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while senior police officials were also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, the IGP Islamabad conferred the new ranks of SP on the 10 officers, congratulated them and expressed his best wishes. He said, when your shoulders shine your hearts will glow and the faces of your children will shine with happiness. That is my primary goal.
I pray that you do justice to the rank you have received and may your children see you as their hero and your mother feel proud of you, IGP said.
He further added that, we will do everything we can to bring happiness to your families. We will ensure that you receive promotions, rewards and that any penalties imposed on you are lifted. But in return you have one job which is to renew the oath you took to eliminate criminals, to provide immediate justice to citizens and to ensure the protection of their lives and property.
He also mentioned, the only way to gain Allah Almighty pleasure is to make things easier for his people. By the grace of Allah, this department is made up of martyrs and heroes. We do not fear becoming martyrs or heroes we are here to write tales of bravery.
He added, remember promotions are a trust from Allah. This is a sacred department and we must fulfill our responsibilities here without any hesitation. We must never show even the slightest weakness.
Moreover, following the special directions of IGP Islamabad the families of the newly promoted officers were also specially invited to the ceremony. IGP Islamabad emphasized that departmental promotions are the fundamental right of every police officer.
He assured that officers who have completed the necessary departmental courses will be promoted to vacant positions according to their seniority and this process will continue until all vacancies are filled.
