PIMSAT graduates urge Senate to address degree attestation delays

ISLAMABAD: Thousands of graduates from the Preston Institute of Management Science and Technology (PIMSAT) continue to face uncertainty as the Senate Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training has yet to address the issue of their unverified degrees.
Despite the National Assembly Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training’s directive on August 8, 2023, recommending the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to resolve the longstanding degree attestation issues for approximately 54,000 students on a case-by-case basis, the matter remains pending in the Senate.
The Senate committee, chaired by Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, has not included the PIMSAT degree attestation issue in its agendas for recent meetings.
Graduates report that PIMSAT has been unresponsive in providing the necessary student data to HEC, further delaying the attestation process.
Affected students urge the Senate committee to prioritize this issue, emphasizing that the lack of degree verification hampers their employment and educational opportunities. –PR
