Four terrorists killed in Swat IBO

RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed four terrorists belonging to “Fitna-Al Khawarij” during an in-telligence-based operation conducted in the Swat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
The ISPR statement said that the operation was conducted on April 18 based on credible intelligence that indicated the presence of khwarij in the area.
The security forces successfully targeted the khwarijs’ hideout, resulting in the deaths of four individu-als identified as members of an outlawed terrorist group. Weapons and explosives were also recov-ered from the site.
The ISPR said the slain terrorists were involved in multiple acts of sabotage in the region.
A clearance and sanitisation operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining threats.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating the menace of terrorism and maintaining peace in the country.
Previously, security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan District, the Inter-ISPR said on Thursday.
The operation, launched on April 16, followed confirmed intelligence about the presence of militants in the region.
A fierce exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of all four terrorists, who were reportedly linked to multiple attacks in the area.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site, according to the ISPR.
During the firefight, Sepoy Basit Siddique, 23, from Attock District, embraced martyrdom.
The ISPR praised his bravery, stating, “Having fought gallantly, [he] paid the ultimate sacrifice and em-braced shahadat.” –Agencies
