ISLAMABAD: A prestigious ceremony was organized at the Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad in honor of the ghazis of Islamabad Police in continuation of “Ghazi Week”.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi attended as the chief guest. The event was attended by senior officers, ghazis along with their families and a large number of police personnel.
The sacrifices and bravery of the ghazis of Islamabad Police were paid tribute to during the ceremony. On this occasion, 20 officers were awarded Shujaat and Ghazi medals along with certificates of appreciation.
The officers who received Shujaat medals include Constable Muhammad Akram, Constable Rehan Ali, Constable Taj-ul-Akbar, Constable Rawal Khan.
Additionally, the officers who received Ghazi medals are included Constable Nasir Khan, Head Constable Wasif Hussain,Constable Abdul Waheed, ASI Arif Aziz, Inspector (retd) Tahir Khan, Sub-Inspector Muzaffar Hussain, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akram, Head Constable Wakeel Khan.
Moreover, Inspector Ejaz Shah, Sub-Inspector Ghulam Sarwar Naeemi, ASI Afsar Ali, ASI Sajid Hussain, Constable Jameel Ahmed, Constable Hazrat Bilal, Head Constable Farhat Abbas, Head Constable Mumtaz Nazir also received Ghazi medals.
Along with the medals, officers receiving the Shujaat medal were awarded Rs. 200,000 and those receiving the Ghazi medal were awarded Rs. 100,000 in addition to appreciation certificates.
Addressing the ceremony, IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that 131 officers of Islamabad Police have been honored with the title of Ghazi.
These officers were awarded Shujaat and Ghazi medals for standing firm in the line of duty and getting injured while disregarding their own lives.
He said that the ghazis of Islamabad Police are fearless and a precious asset of the nation. The spirit of sacrifice is a blessing only granted to the brave sons of a nation. He added that the families of those who sacrifice for the nation are also worthy of great respect.
History will always remember those who sacrificed their present for the future of others.
He further stated that when these ghazis go on missions their loved ones bid them farewell with prayers for their great cause and that cause is martyrdom. These individuals are assets who have written heroic tales of bravery. The best way to please Allah Almighty is by easing the lives of his people.
He expressed that the pride he felt being among the Ghazis today could not be felt in any other ceremony. He further said that i saluted the mothers, elders and daughters present in the audience who raised these ghazis.
He said that the whole Islamabad Police force saluted all those who shaped these individuals into such brave souls that they no longer recognize the concept of fear, their only goal being to sfaracrifice for their nation. He also paid heartfelt tribute to these noble families.
