ITP honours heroes in Ghazi Week ceremony

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Traffic Police held the ceremony to honor the veterans.


SP Majid Iqbal participated as the chief guest. The event was attended by senior officers, police ghazis and their families, officers from the traffic police education wing and a large number of students from the National Police Foundation school.
During the event, SP Traffic Majid Iqbal planted a tree with students as part of the plantation drive, promoting environmental awareness.
He stated that the ghazis of Islamabad Police are our heroes who have made remarkable sacrifices in the service and protection of the public. Today we salute their sacrifices. Additionally, students paid tribute to Islamabad Police ghazis through special speeches, essays and drawing competitions showcasing the services of the brave police officers through their talents and words.
At the end of the ceremony the chief guest distributed prizes among the students who performed exceptionally well in the competitions and appreciated their efforts.
He affirmed that Islamabad Traffic Police will continue to organize such events in the future to encourage the younger generation to uphold the values of lawfulness, patriotism and responsible citizenship.
Chief Traffic Officer Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider stated that Ghazi Week is not only a way to remember our heroes but also serves to inspire the new generation to follow in their footsteps. He added that the purpose of these events is to pay tribute to the valiant officers and personnel of Islamabad Police.
