IGP holds late night meeting on security, traffic

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held a late-night important meeting with SSP Security Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider.


The meeting involved a comprehensive discussion on the current security situation, traffic management, public facilitation and other administrative matters.
During the meeting, IGP Islamabad directed to ensure responsibility along with professionalism in security affairs and issued instructions to make the citizen friendly traffic system more effective.
On this occasion, he also directed the improvement of checking arrangements at entry points of the red zone and to ensure the security of key institutions, offices and embassies located in the red zone. He emphasized that surveillance across the entire federal capital including entry and exit points of the city should be ensured through Safe City cameras.
A special review of the traffic arrangements was also conducted. Special instructions were issued to protect Islamabad citizens from accidents, maintain discipline on roads, ensure the implementation of traffic laws and to take stricter and more effective legal action against serious traffic violations particularly no-parking, over-speeding and encroachments.
He further stated that ensuring the safety of citizens lives and property, maintaining peace and order and establishing an integrated traffic system remain among the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
