KARACHI: A high-level delegation of senior scholars and academicians from Sindh visited China from April 21-27 to strengthen bilateral relations.
Dr. Muhammad Ali Sheikh, former Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi, led the 9-member delegation, which included VC Aror University, Sukkar, and deans, heads and directors of various departments of other universities of the province.
In an interview with media, Dr. Sheikh said that the visit was very productive as they discussed topics related to Pakistan-China relations, especially CPEC, with senior Chinese officials.
The delegation also explored different avenues of collaboration at China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing and Fudan University in Shanghai. “We were amazed to see Chinese students of the Urdu Department of Peking University fluently speaking in our national language,” Dr. Sheikh said.
The scholars witnessed the wonders of Chinese advanced technologies at Zhangjiang Robot Valley in Shanghai and the Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China.
“At the Shibei High-Tech Park in Shanghai, we were astonished to see China’s advancement in Artificial Intelligence as a machine promptly translated to the Chinese language as we spoke in our native Sindhi language,” Dr. Sheikh said.
“We have also invited our Chinese hosts and university students to visit Pakistan to continue advancing our shared goals,” Dr. Sheikh concluded. The visit was arranged by the Chinese Consulate in Karachi.
