ISLAMABAD: A few days ago, a foreign woman reported to Islamabad Police that she had been sexually assaulted and robbed off her valuable belongings.
Upon receiving the report, a case was registered immediately. Taking serious notice of the incident, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi formed a high-level investigation team under the supervision of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq.
The investigative team used advanced technology, CCTV footage, geo-fencing and other forensic evidence to trace the criminal. Through continuous effort and teamwork the accused was apprehended within just 51 hours and the stolen items were recovered from his possession.
Moreover, the victim formally identified the accused. On this occasion, she expressed deep satisfaction and gratitude for the timely, transparent and effective action taken by Islamabad Police.
She stated that the swift response by the police gave her hope for justice. IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi commended the police team for their outstanding performance stating that this success is a clear testament to the professionalism and teamwork of Islamabad Police.
