ISLAMABAD: On the special directives of Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (Retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider the Islamabad Traffic Police remains committed to providing every possible travel convenience to citizens and is actively working to prevent accidents and maintain traffic flow by enforcing traffic laws without discrimination.
As part of a special campaign, during the last week actions were taken against 635 vehicles with non-standard number plates, 560 motorcyclists without helmets, 1,969 for illegal parking, 604 instances of wrong-way driving and 1,036 for signal violations.
Similarly, action was also taken against 253 for seatbelt non-compliance and 94 drivers using mobile phones while driving along with other violations. Furthermore, 676 vehicles and motorcycles involved in serious violations were impounded at various police stations.
CTO Islamabad Syed Zeeshan Haider has urged the public to follow traffic laws and cooperate with the Islamabad Traffic Police to maintain a smooth and regulated traffic system. The police are making every effort to prevent accidents and uphold the rule of law equally for all, he added.
Earlier, Following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Police is constantly engaged in maintaining peace and tranquility in the federal capital. In this regard, officers of Islamabad Police are effectively performing their duties to ensure the protection of embassies, ambassadorial residences, United Nations offices and important government properties located in the Diplomatic Enclave.
